MICRO-VETT S.p.A. is the top firm in Italy – and one of the leaders in Europe – for the design and construction of electrically powered vehicles.
Since 1986 Micro-Vett has been producing electric, hybrid and bimodal vehicles with the aim of improving environmental sustainability and energy efficiency through continued technological research, in full respect of current regulations and upholding the interests of all those involved.
Working closely with large-scale vehicle manufacturers (FIAT, Piaggio and Iveco) and with well-known research institutes (Fiat Research Centre), Micro-Vett is able to produce high-level technology that combines high standard, quality vehicles with the complete technical reliability of an electric traction system designed and produced in-house. In this way it's possible to offer concrete solutions to mobility and environmental problems in urban areas. For its first-rate client base (Fiat, Enel, DHL, Disneyland, TIL Reggio Emilia, Waste Management, city councils including Turin, Reggio Emilia, Livorno, Stockholm and dozens of other local authorities, large, medium and small-scale companies and cities) Micro-Vett produces a complete range of electric commercial vehicles.
One of Micro-Vett's most notable sustainable mobility projects was developed in Reggio Emilia. The 371 electric vehicles brought in to substitute traditional vehicles led to a notable improvement in air quality (as well as a significant reduction in management costs) and in 2003, Reggio Emilia was presented with the “Global Visionary Award” for this project. The accolade - the most prestigious at global level – is awarded by WEVA (World Electric Vehicle Association). Reggio Emilia was declared the European “city most committed to the use and diffusion of electric vehicles in Europe”. Los Angeles received the same award for the American continent and Yokohama for the Asian-Pacific region.
